Louie S. Greenwell, was born November 29, 1931 and passed away December 21, 2005. He was married to Roma SHAW Greenwell for 45 years, and they have two daughters. They are Regina GREENWELL Cates, and Robin GREENWELL Strickland. Louie our beloved "Uncle Louie" who was also fondly called "Bub" by his brother and my father, Dr. Lloyd Martin Greenwell, a native of Freemont, Va. and lived in Hampton until he joined the Air Force. Louie was deeply loved by his family and we miss him dreadfully.
Louie was the proud son of the late Wiley Martin Greenwell and Mae HALL Greenwell. Louie was also a native of Freemont, VA and lived in Hampton, TN nearly all of his life. Louie proudly served our country in the United States Navy, and retired from North American Rayon Corporation. Louie had two brothers, and one sister. Lloyd Martin Greenwell b. 1928 in Freemont, VA., Lois Ann GREENWELL Stout b. December 27, 1929 and died January 30, 1997 in Michigan., and their baby brother Luther Haskel Greenwell b. March 14, 1934 d. December 30, 1936 who only lived until the tender age of 2. When Louie died, a piece of Hampton, TN went with him, he loved TN and the mountains and his family and his life. There will be no other like him, he was one of a kind. He has a proud and very smart man, and was deeply devoted to his wife, and daughters. Exploring and acknowledging family legacy recognizes a rich part of family life and can enhance the family's understanding of the Greenwell Legacy and our related practices, activities, and habits, for we are very proud of our heritage and those who have proudly been born into our family line.
