Mrs. Belle Culbert, 84, 607 North Roan Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William and Abigail Williams Oliver.
Mrs. Culbert was a member of Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church and the Elizabethton Senior Citizens. She loved music.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Culbert was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Hardin, and her second husband, John Henry Culbert.
Survivors include her son, Roger, her granddaughter, Shelina Hardin Pierce and her husband, George Pierce, two grandsons, Larry Hardin and Robert "Cotton" Hardin, a step-daughter, Debbie Culbert, two great-grandsons, Brandon Pierce and Nicholas Pierce, two brothers, Lonnie Oliver and Wayne Oliver, a sister, Lucy Oliver, and two special friends, Sheila Hardin and Rev. Mark Street, all of Elizabethton. Several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Culbert will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with the Rev. Mark Street officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be at Buckles Cemetery in the Stoney Creek Community following the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers friends may make memorial donations to Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1704, Elizabethton, TN 37644.
